Job Title: Project Engineer – Stage Engineering, Theatre and Broadcast

Stagewise Ltd is looking for a technically capable and commercially aware Project Engineer to help deliver specialist stage engineering projects across theatre, broadcast, and live entertainment environments. This role suits someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with project planning, client communication, and practical problem-solving on site.

Salary: £47,000 per annum, depending on experience

We support clients with the design, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and compliance of stage and auditorium equipment, including lifting equipment, control systems, and associated data systems. Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable Project Engineer to support the Directors with the planning, quoting, coordination, and delivery of specialist engineering projects. This is a varied, hands-on role involving site work, office-based project administration, and remote coordination. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with clients, suppliers, and engineering teams, and will be able to move confidently between technical detail and practical delivery.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage engineering works from concept through to completion
  • Assist Directors with project control, including quoting, planning, and scheduling
  • Design and develop inspection and data systems for stage and studio environments
  • Lead or support on-site engineering teams during installations and commissioning
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records
  • Provide technical input during project meetings and reviews

 


 

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of stage engineering, control systems, data networks, and related technologies
  • Experience in a similar engineering or project management role
  • Hands-on engineering skills and willingness to work on-site when needed
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, network design software, or similar technical platforms
  • Familiarity with safety systems and stage engineering standards
  • Background in theatre, live events, or broadcast engineering
  • Experience with hybrid working and remote project coordination

 

Working Conditions & Benefits

  • Salary of £47,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Overtime is not standard, but where additional hours are required, time off in lieu may be agreed in advanceHybrid working model: office, home, and site based as required
  • Travel to client sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays depending on project requirements
